It had been years since I visited this remarkable place, bordering the Navajo Reservation. In the 1980's, I met one of the members of the 1934 Rainbow Bridge-Monument Valley Expedition here, who eventually helped guide our backpacking group intoTsegi Canyon to explore the remarkable Anasazi ruins. This time, I found benches dedicated to his memory. I sat on one and painted the view.
